Ground TrainingProgrammed Ground Training Home study segment: 20 hours Ground training segment: 12 hours In all cases the objective of training is to train to proficiency. The above programmed times are minimums. Upon completion of the home study segment and arrival at class, each student will be ready to enter the Ground training Segment. At the end of the ground training curriculum segment, the crew member will be able to locate, identify, and operate all aircraft systems. Additionally, the crew member will be able to demonstrate knowledge of aircraft performance, as well as systems and aircraft limitations. The applicant will be capable of satisfactorily completing the equipment examination portion of the practical test, at the end of this segment. Flight TrainingProgrammed Flight Training Training flight #1 and #2: 6 hours Flight Check: 2 hours The objective of flight training is to provide an opportunity for a flight crew member to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to perform to a desired standard. The opportunity provides for demonstration, instruction, and practice of maneuvers and procedures (training events) pertinent to a particular aircraft and Pilot in Command position. At the end of the flight training curriculum, the flight crew member will be able to operate the aircraft and perform the duties and responsibilities of pilot in command to the Airline transport practical test standards.
