1965 American Champion 7ECA Citabria
Just sitting there on the ramp, it exudes an irresistible charm. The Citabria (which is “aerobatic” spelled backward) speaks to pilots who yearn to test their skills in aerobatic flying or simply have a great time flying low and slow with friends at grass airstrips. American Champion is still manufacturing this series, and the original model presents a great value for the right pilot.
This 1965 Citabria had its Poly-Fiber recovery completed in 2002-2004, along with rebuilt wings and a new wooden spar in 2004. The aircraft has 1,173 hours on it, and the Continental O-200 engine has clocked 837 hours since its major overhaul. The seller claims it has flown 48 hours in the past 6 months, indicating it’s far from being a dormant beauty. It is equipped with a uAvionix skyBeacon for ADS-B compliance.
Offered for a price of $45,000, this tailwheel star based in Visalia, California, could be yours.
