I’m sitting beside a lady on a plane, and she initiates some casual conversation before the takeoff.
Passenger: “Did you attend college?”
Me: “Yes, I majored in earth science.”
Passenger: “Is there any solid evidence that plate tectonics exist?”
Me: “There is indeed.”
Passenger: “What does your Lutheran church have in mind about that?”
I’m not a religious person, and there had been absolutely no mention of religion at all in the conversation before that! At least this brought a natural end to the conversation!
