Wisk Aero, the autonomous eVTOL manufacturer, is currently completely had by Boeing, as announced by chief executive officer Brian Yutko during a May 31 event in South Carolina. Previously, Wisk had two backers– Boeing and Feline Hawk– but after Cat Hawk enclosed September 2022, Boeing took complete control. Financial information weren’t divulged, yet Wisk rapidly updated its site to reflect the possession modification.

Wisk mentioned that while it stays an independent entity, its relationship with Boeing allows it to take advantage of Boeing’s know-how in development, testing, and accreditation. Boeing had spent virtually $500 million in Wisk in 2022 and remains to support it with ability and sector expertise.

In May 2024, Wisk partnered with Japan Airlines to introduce a self-governing air taxi solution utilizing its four-seat Generation 6 eVTOL in Japan. In addition, Wisk signed a contract with JAL Design to service certification and governing matters with Japanese aeronautics authorities. Wisk’s electrical aircraft can cover to 144 km at travelling speeds of 203 to 222 kph.
